Riverside Chamber & CARB to Host Clean Tech Expo & Mixer June 30 Companies that use technology to make a cleaner and greener environment are invited to showcase their innovations at the CleanTech Expo and Mixer. The event will be held on Thursday, June 30, at the Riverside Convention Center.

BNSF to Improve Train Infrastructure in San Bernardino: California Makes Key Appointment for Sustainable Supply Chain The San Bernardino City Council has decided to certify the Final Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for BNSF’s proposed gap closure project, which aims to improve train infrastructure in and out of the company’s existing San Bernardino Intermodal Facility.

A $300M Fiber Optic Project will Bring High-speed Internet to Every Home and Business in Riverside, CA SiFi Networks just received approval to construct a 1,690-mile fiber infrastructure for $300 million, which will be paid for by the company. By 2024, fiber optic cables delivering high-speed internet may run through every home and business in the Inland Empire’s largest city.

StarNav Gets New Grant from Army: Makes Headway in its Innovative Alternate to GPS Tech for Aircrafts The United States Army has granted $7 million in new contracts to six startups (one being Riverside-based StarNav) to help them get their innovative solutions in weapons systems and electronics from idea to prototype. The Army Applied Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program, which releases contract opportunities on an ad hoc and rolling basis for U.S.-based small businesses and non-traditional defense partners to take on some of the Army’s most critical challenges, will provide nearly $1.1 million in funding to each company over 18 months.

Inland Empire to House Amazon’s Largest Warehouse: Bigger than Disney California Adventure Park In the Inland Empire, Amazon is opening one of its largest warehouses. The project will be finished by the end of 2022 at the Merrill Commerce Center in Ontario. It is one of their largest structures, with over 800,000 square feet and total square footage of over 4 million square feet.

Artemis set to Test pCell Technology in San Bernardino; Claims 10x the Capacity of Traditional LTE/5G Artemis applied to the FCC to take permission to test an LTE wireless network in a San Bernardino event center using its pCell technology. The FCC has just approved Artemis’ proposal to test pCell operations. The test will be conducted on Dish Network’s licensed 3.5GHz CBRS spectrum.
