StarNav Gets New Grant from Army: Makes Headway in its Innovative Alternate to GPS Tech for Aircrafts The United States Army has granted $7 million in new contracts to six startups (one being Riverside-based StarNav) to help them get their innovative solutions in weapons systems and electronics from idea to prototype. The Army Applied Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program, which releases contract opportunities on an ad hoc and rolling basis for the U.S.-based small businesses and non-traditional defense partners to take on some of the Army’s most critical challenges, will provide nearly $1.1 million in funding to each company over 18 months.
Inland Empire to House Amazon’s Largest Warehouse: Bigger than Disney California Adventure Park In the Inland Empire, Amazon is opening one of its largest warehouses. The project will be finished by the end of 2022 at the Merrill Commerce Center in Ontario. It is one of their largest structures, with over 800,000 square feet and total square footage of over 4 million square feet.
Artemis set to Test pCell Technology in San Bernardino; Claims 10x the Capacity of Traditional LTE/5G Artemis applied to the FCC to take permission to test an LTE wireless network in a San Bernardino event center using its pCell technology. The FCC has just approved Artemis’ proposal to test pCell operations. The test will be conducted on Dish Network’s licensed 3.5GHz CBRS spectrum.
