Palm Springs International Film Festival 2023: A Quick Guide The 34th Palm Springs International Film Festival will be held from January 5-16, 2023, showcasing 134 films from 64 countries, including 27 world premieres. The venues for the film festival include Annenberg Theater, Camelot Theatre (PS Cultural Center), Mary Pickford is D’Place, Palm Springs High School, and Regal Cinemas. Riverside County Office of Economic Development (RivCoEd) is the primary sponsor of the 2023 Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival.

Temecula Launches Digital Bootcamp Training & Grant Program for Small Businesses The Orange County Inland Empire Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and the City of Temecula have teamed up to transform the SBDC’s online Digital Bootcamp training program into the Digital Bootcamp Training & Grant Program. It is part of the Temecula COVID-19 Community Reinvestment Program. A four-week initiative called Digital Bootcamp will offer Temecula-based brick-and-mortar businesses financing and training.

Fifth Seed Lab Pre-Accelerator Cohort Announced by the Caravanserai Project SEED Lab boosts startup and early-stage social innovators from historically marginalized communities. It gives them the tools they need to forge new paths across inherited obstacles. The fifth batch of entrepreneurs with a social mission that will participate in the Caravanserai Project’s Social Entrepreneurship, Engagement, and Development Lab Pre-accelerator has been announced (SEED Lab). The 2022-2023 cohorts will participate in intense business and leadership training and one-on-one coaching sessions throughout the eight-month program created by the Caravanserai Project.

UCR EPIC Incubation Challenge to give $100K in prizes to Six Latin American Tech Startups Tech-focused Latin American startups aiming to market their discoveries in the US will receive help from the UCR EPIC International Incubation Challenge. A total of $100,000 in prizes—$40,000 in cash, $60,000 in expert mentorship support from UC Riverside, and a trip to Riverside, California for the winner—will be awarded to six (6) LATAM entrepreneurs.

Lendistry Manages a New Round of Grants for California’s Live Venues On December 20, 2022, Lendistry, a small business lender, announced that it would manage a new round of grants to assist independent live venues in California that generate most of its income from ticket sales and event marketing. As the program’s “Round 2” began on December 19, 2022, the eligibility for new applicants have been enlarged. To support additional venues impacted by the pandemic, the California Venues Grant Program, which Lendistry administered in October and November of 2021, is returning for a new round.

$30 million for Inland Empire Local Projects in 2023 Government Funding $30M was allocated for Community Project Funding for the Inland Empire in the final 2023 government funding package. Rep. Pete Aguilar was the driving force behind the funding approval. He advocated for the funding as a member of the House Committee on Appropriations and pushed for inclusion in the final government funding package.
