In the final 2023 federal funding bill, Rep. Pete Aguilar voted in favor of $30,152,130 in Community Project Funding for the Inland Empire, which President Biden will now sign. Rep. Aguilar requested these initiatives in May 2022. He worked for their inclusion in the final government funding plan while serving on the House Committee on Appropriations.
“I am proud to have secured $30,152,130 in Community Project Funding that I know meets long overdue community needs for the Inland Empire,” Rep. Aguilar said.
Funding Allocated for 15 Initiatives in Inland Empire
Rep. Aguilar proposed financing for 15 initiatives that will primarily help those living in the Inland Empire. These consist of the following:
- Third Street Corridor Project
- Inland Valley Development Agency Joint Powers Authority is the project’s requester.
- Secured Amount: $3,000,000
- The Arrowhead Grove Community Resource Center
- The Housing Authority of the County of San Bernardino is the project’s requester.
- Secured Amount: $3,000,000
- The Lake Rialto Habitat Management and Community Open Space Project.
- The city of Rialto is the requester of the project.
- Secured Amount: $2,000,000
- Cucamonga Canyon Trailhead in Morgan Ranch, Rancho Cucamonga
- California State University, San Bernardino, is the project’s requester (CSUSB)
- Secured Amount: $2,000,000

Community Project Funding to Address Local Needs and Create Jobs
The government funding package will foster economic opportunities for middle-class families and small businesses while producing well-paying jobs in the United States. It includes $44.9 billion in ongoing financial, humanitarian, and military assistance to the Ukrainian people and $40.6 billion in aid to areas that experienced unprecedented natural disasters.
Additionally, $5 billion will be allocated to pay for veterans who were exposed to harmful substances while serving overseas to receive VA health care.
