  • The City of Ontario is implementing various modern technology projects to improve the City for its citizens and enterprises.
  • Solar panels are being installed at the Convention Center, Toyota Arena, and City Hall Annex to provide clean and renewable energy to the City.
  • New HVAC systems will purify indoor air using MERV 13 filters and exhaust stale inside air while drawing in fresh outdoor air.
  • Electric vehicle charging stations are being installed to accommodate the increasing number of electric car owners in Ontario and reduce fuel prices.
  • Ontario is integrating high-speed fiber internet into its infrastructure, focusing on Ontario Ranch. The plan is to install it throughout the City.

The City of Ontario uses modern technology to create a better future for its 11,000 enterprises and 176,000+ citizens. Some typical projects vary from LED streetlights citywide to solar panel structures at the Ontario Convention Center and backup battery energy storage devices at crucial locations.

Projects of Ontario in Progress

Solar Panel Projects

Sunpower is being harnessed in Ontario. Solar photovoltaic (PV) panels are being installed at the Convention Center, Toyota Arena, and City Hall Annex to make the most of Ontario’s abundant sunlight.

Solar energy is clean, GHG emission-free, and renewable, making it better for the environment and the City’s finances than coal or natural gas. The installation of solar panels provides the City with its energy supply, reducing the City’s reliance on utilities and the load placed on California’s electrical grid.

As a result, less tax money will be used for utility costs and more for community improvement.

Solar Pool Heating Projects

New solar thermal heating systems are being installed in the pools at the Dorothy Quesada Swim Center and the Westwind Swim Center. The City’s pools are now heated primarily by solar energy, as opposed to conventional natural gas-powered pool heating systems.

These systems are less expensive for the environment and the taxpayers because they do not generate greenhouse gasses that harm our outdoor air quality.

Ventilation and Air Conditioning Projects

City facilities will now have HVAC systems.

Some of these new air conditioners will be powered by solar panels, minimizing environmental effects even more while keeping you comfortable and healthy. But these modern HVAC systems do more than keep you cool.

Additionally, they will actively purify indoor air utilizing MERV 13 filters approved by the Centers for Disease Control. This cutting-edge filtration lowers the likelihood of sickness and suffering during allergy season by trapping viruses, bacteria, allergens, and pollutants.

For your enjoyment year-round, especially on sweltering summer days, City buildings will have clean air and moderate temperatures due to controls for outside-air economizers that exhaust stale inside air while drawing in fresh outdoor air.

Electric Vehicle Charging Projects

Most Californians will use electric cars in the future (EV). Ontario is putting in EV charging stations at the Public Works Service Center, Westwind Community Center, Dorothy Quesada Community Center, and Armstrong Community Center to accommodate the increasing number of EV owners who reside here, conduct business here, or otherwise benefit from the community.

In addition to making Ontario more ecologically friendly, these new charging stations also directly benefit the residents of Ontario. The Ontario community has a lot to look forward to, from reduced fuel prices to rising property values to the eventual creation of more clean transportation options.

High-Speed Internet Projects

When it comes to integrating fiber into its infrastructure, Ontario is setting the bar high. Currently, Ontario Ranch is the project’s primary focus as it develops. Significant lateral fiber builds have been made to specific commercial, business, and residential areas. The fiber network also connects 70 traffic signal cabinets and essential city infrastructure.

Wrap Up!

The City of Ontario is using modern technology to improve the City for its citizens and enterprises, including implementing solar panels, thermal heating systems, HVAC systems, electric vehicle charging stations, and high-speed fiber internet.

These projects aim to provide clean and renewable energy, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, purify indoor air, accommodate the increasing number of electric car owners, and improve internet infrastructure. These efforts will benefit the City’s environment and finances and enhance its citizens’ quality of life.
