Weekly Wire RoundUp # 10

The first story we reported on this week was UCR’s quest to hire an Entrepreneur-in-Residence (EIR) with a salary range of $71K per annum to $137K per annum. We discussed in detail the role that EIR will play in UCR’s program for entrepreneurship. The article also lists a link to UCR’s job description document.

Tech Companies in the Inland Empire Region

Then we reported about Pacaso, a new online real estate marketplace (platform) that makes it easy to search for and buy a second luxury home you’ve wished for. Pacaso has a sizeable inventory of luxury homes in Coachella Valley.

We also featured Temecula-based HR analytics company called Perceptyx. The special thing about this HR tech company is its closely-knit culture, favorable reputation among customers, and early innovation in HR analytics. The company did acquire a few companies on its way to growth. However, it was not the sole reason for its consistent and sustainable growth.

CARB Relocates

The California Air Resources Board (CARB) relocated its office to Southern California, settling on a 19-acre piece of land on Iowa Avenue. The University of California, Riverside (UCR) previously owned the land.

We also reported on a report by CB Insights in which the VC analytics+research firm had listed 12 reasons most frequently cited for a startup’s failure. You can read about all of the 12 reasons, and the one that topped the list was lack of capital (funding dries out).

Lastly, we covered five Wine Country Temecula Valley companies that have stuck around and added value to the local economy.
