Startempire Weekly Round Up: From a $266M Bus Transit System to Kids Coding Camp by C3

Here’s our Weekly Wire Round-Up. This week we covered some of the infrastructure-level developments in the Inland Empire and how it improves the business environment for startups. The summary of the news week boils down to three points:

  • Infrastructure-level Developments in the Inland Empire
  • Business incubators as enablers of the local startup ecosystem
  • Inspiring examples of Future tech hubs

1. Infrastructure Development | From Rapid Buses to Electric Vehicles

We started the week by covering three Inland Empire companies with over $1 Billion. These were not just unicorns with valuations of billions of dollars but companies with sustainable and time-tested market presence. Esri, Bourns, and Stater Bros were the companies that made it to our list.

The Inland Empire’s transport infrastructure is getting uplifted with several projects planned and executed from San Bernardino to Ontario. We reported on the rapid bus transit project called The West Valley Connector (WVC)Β coming to San Bernardino in 2024. Its total funding is $266 Million.

Two companies investing heavily in setting up the electric vehicle infrastructure for the region and America are AYRO and Karma Automotive. We reported that both companies have entered into a partnership to produce $300 Million worth of electric vehicles in the next three years.

2. Startup Enablers of the Inland Empire

Apart from the mega transport and electric vehicle manufacturing infrastructure investments, ten or so business incubators are pushing the startup ecosystem here in the Inland Empire. We covered these startup enablers, and if you go through the list, you will find one that fits your startup investment or incubation needs.

3. Tech Hubs from the Ground Up

And we went down the inspiration lane and found four big companies pushing the boundaries of building tech hubs. We also wrote about Saudi Arabia’s entry as a tech hub maker with its NEOM city. Worth reading about how companies are trying to own the whole communities and their growth from their perspective.

4. Kids Coding Camp

The things we do for our future generations are the things that matter the most. This is evident from the C3 Initiative, which teaches kids aged 8-18 how to code and build robots.

Our goal at Startempire Wire is to act as a megaphone to connect the dots between the best startups, events, and people in the Inland Empire. Don’t forget to subscribe to our YouTube channel, and like/follow us on FacebookTwitter, and Instagram.
