IE Universities Bullish about Business Education

This week we covered how four Inland Empire universities are betting big time on their business schools, from UC Riverside and CSUSB to the University of La Verne to California State Polytechnic University, Pomona.

In a related story, we covered the news about the University of La Verne’s new business school in Ontario. Per details, the University struck a land-swapping deal with The City Council of Ontario to make a business school in Ontario, CA. The business school will be called the “Randall Lewis Center for Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and Social Impact.”

A Different Workforce

We reported that the JVS group had secured a $1 million grant from the US Department of Education to develop a water/wastewater workforce program within the Inland Empire. It will fund paid internships offered by The Inland Empire Utilities Agency (IEUA/Agency) under the program called IEWorks.

Organizations Playing their Part in the Inland Empire’s Startup and Business Ecosystem

We wrote about the important role Office of Economic Development (OED) of Riverside County plays in fostering business and startup growth in the county.

In the same league is SCORE, a non-profit organization providing mentors for startup and business founders. The organization has a good local presence in the Inland Empire.
