January 2023 PMI Report: Inland Empire Manufacturing Sector Shows Signs of Improvement
The Institute of Applied Research’s Inland Empire Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) has increased to 50.4, up from 47.0 the previous month. Two more months of PMI numbers above 50 are needed to consider the manufacturing sector in growth mode. The outlook for the Inland Empire economy remains “less than favorable,” with 46% predicting the economy will weaken in the upcoming quarter and 46% indicating it will stay the same.

Sprouts Farmers Market Brings Fresh, Affordable, and Sustainable Food to Victorville
Sprouts Farmers Market, which provides fresh and organic products at reasonable prices, is a retailer of natural and organic foods with over 380 locations in 23 states. Sprouts Farmers Market is opening its first location in Victorville, California. The new Sprouts location will occupy the 18,600-square-foot structure that once housed Toys “R” Us on Amargosa Road in Victorville. The building is located in a retail center with anchor tenants like 99 Cents Only, Party City, Get Air, and Hobby Lobby.
JDS Creative Academy Gets $30,000 Grant for 7th Annual DigiFest Temecula Event
The City of Temecula has awarded a $30,000 grant to JDS Creative Academy’s digital media event, DigiFest® Temecula. The 7th Annual DigiFest® Temecula will have resources upgraded by the grant, which will be used for industry speakers, design and technology, and advertising. JDS Creative Academy is a 501c3 non-profit organization that promotes education and training in the performing and visual arts and fine and producing arts.
Cherry Valley Logistics Center in Inland Empire East Sold to a Real Estate Fund
Shopoff Realty Investments (“Shopoff”) and Artemis Real Estate Partners (“Artemis”) sold their Cherry Valley Logistics Center project to a Brookfield Asset Management real estate fund. This 1.8 million-square-foot logistics center is located in the Inland Empire East. Brookfield Properties, represented by CBRE, leased the building to a global e-commerce retailer with plans to employ nearly 1,000 employees at this location.
