BNSF to Build The Barstow International Gateway in San Bernardino BNSF Railway revealed plans to spend more than $1.5 billion to build the first Class 1 railroad complex in Southern California on 1st October 2022. The Barstow International Gateway will enable direct container transfer from ships at Los Angeles and Long Beach ports to trains. It will help transportation across the Alameda Corridor and onto the BNSF mainline up to Barstow.

San Bernardino-based Partner Ecosystem Platform WorkSpan Raises $30M Series C WorkSpan, a partner ecosystem cloud Platform, has secured $30 million in Series C investment. The Ecosystem Cloud platform from WorkSpan was explicitly created for ecosystem partnering, enabling businesses to co-sell with partners and market joint partner products more quickly.

The University of California, Riverside’s Initiative OASIS Gets $2M from Fed Government’s Build to Scale Grant The Opportunity to Advance Sustainability Innovation and Social Inclusion (OASIS) initiative is a public-private partnership led by the University of California, Riverside-Riverside (UCR). To continue its entrepreneurship-boosting initiatives, OASIS also received funding of $2M from the federal government.

Indeed Flex, an app for temporary work, expands to San Bernardino, Two Other Counties in California Indeed Flex is an online marketplace for flexible and temporary labor owned by Indeed.com. It announced the expansion of operations in California on 14th September 2022 to enable more resources for job seekers and workers. Indeed Flex is a recruitment platform enabling job seekers and employers. It was formerly known as Syft before Indeed acquired it.

Netherlands-based Startup Super Family Makes Murrieta Innovation Center its Basecamp for Growth The City of Murrieta announced on Monday, October 4th, that its business incubator Murrieta innovation Center had signed its first foreign startup. The Murrieta Innovation Center, located at 26442 Beckman Court, is home to 13 American startups. Now, the Dutch company Super Family has also joined the other 13.

Medical group Desert Oasis Healthcare to pilot Google Health’s Care Studio Medical group Desert Oasis Healthcare has joined a pilot program of Google Health’s clinical software Care Studio. Care Studio by Google is a search tool for clinicians. It harmonizes healthcare data from different sources.
