A guy named Mike graduated from CSUSB’s Entrepreneurship program, and instead of starting a business, he joined Bridgestone, a multinational auto and truck parts manufacturer with $28 Billion in revenues.
Within six years, Mike went from an entry-level employee to a Regional Director of Bridgestone, overseeing a $250 Million operation with 110 retail stores in Southern California and Las Vegas. When asked how he moved up the ladder so fast, he answered, “Everything I learned in the class, I applied it, and this set me apart from all the other employees.”
While the name is not real but the story is. If you have an ownership mindset and are results-driven, the Masters of Science in Entrepreneurship and Innovation program might be what you need at this moment in your life to take it to the next level.
$5000 Scholarship for Being One of the First 10 Applicants
School of Entrepreneurship at Cal State San Bernardino offers a $5K scholarship to one (1) student who is among the first ten students to apply and are accepted to the Masters of Science in Entrepreneurship and Innovation (MSEI) program’s 2nd cohort for Fall 2021.
At first, you might think a Master of Science in Entrepreneurship sounds like an academic program because entrepreneurship is learned by doing instead of graduating. However, unlike other MBA programs, the MSEI program by CSUSB offers a deeper dive than a general and broad introduction to business and management concepts.
CSUSB is an AACSB-accredited institution with only 910 business institutions in 58 countries and territories that have earned AACSB accreditation. A list of U.S-based business schools accredited by AACSB can be accessed here.
Degree Structure
The MSEI program is structured as a 16-24 month, 30-unit program for business and non-business majors. Instruction mode is primarily face-to-face courses but will also integrate hybrid instruction.
The program is identified as a Top 35 Globally Recognized Entrepreneurship program.
Application Requirements
If you plan to apply for the MSEI graduate degree program, the good news is that you don’t need a GMAT or GRE.
You just need to have:
- Current Resume
- 1 Letter of recommendation
- English proficiency exam: IELTS/TOEFL
- A Bachelor’s degree with an overall GPA of 2.75
- A personal statement stating why you want to join this program
- Participation in a brief interview with the MSEI program director and/or faculty

The rationale of the Program
Per the Director of Inland Empire Center for Entrepreneurship and the mastermind behind this degree program, students are now looking for more specific study programs instead of general courses.
That’s where this program called MSEI has 80% of the ten courses around entrepreneurship, and only a couple of the courses will be general.
The program can help aspiring entrepreneurs and people looking to innovate and launch ventures in a larger firm (ideally, their current employer). One other opportunity is for some companies who might be looking for entrepreneurs-in-residence to commercialize their invention and bring it to the market.
