Walmart to Close Five e-Commerce Fulfillment Centers, including One in Chino, San Bernardino.

 Walmart has asked hundreds of workers to find other jobs in the U.S. within the next 90 days. The company is shrinking its workforce as many retailers complain about declining sales. Walmart has informed Reuters that it is laying off at five fulfillment centers in Pedricktown, New Jersey; Fort Worth, Texas; Chino, California; Davenport, Florida; and Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

Virtual Enterprise: Empowering Young Entrepreneurs Through Real Business Experiences

1200 California, Arizona, and Oregon students participated in the Virtual Enterprise event hosted by CSUSB’s Inland Empire Center for Entrepreneurship. For the first time, an event was hosted at CSUSB through IECE. These career-oriented programs help pave educational pathways by providing students with career education and on-job training.

IECE at CSUSB: Making an Economic Impact in the Inland Empire

IECE had a $130 million net positive economic impact on the region’s economy in 2022. IECE introduced innovative entrepreneurship programs, including the Catapult Business Growth Network, Financial Fitness Bootcamp, and SBDC Center for Contracting. The actual economic impact of IECE on the region may be even more significant than $130 million due to multiplier effects.

Happiest Ours: One of the 12 Startups Selected for Techstars LA Accelerator Spring Class of 2023

The Techstars LA Accelerator Spring Class of 2023 comprises 12 innovative startups from various fields. Happiest Ours, a Corona-based startup, is one of the 12 startups selected. The platform provides a one-stop digital service for booking mobile bartending and equips bartenders with the tools they need to run their businesses. Techstars LA Accelerator program provides mentorship and resources to help these startups grow and scale their businesses, culminating in a Demo Day event on June 8th, 2023.
