Ideation Workshop by Blackstone LaunchPad UCR

UCR and Blackstone LaunchPad will conduct a workshop on February 14, 2022, at the Creat’R Lab (Orbach Library). It’s a hands-on workshop where participants can learn by doing. It includes things like:

  • The ideation process
  • The power of free-thinking
  • How can we master creativity even if we don’t think we are very creative?

Jamboree Housing Corp. Gets $1.5M for a 33-unit supportive housing project

The Jamboree Housing Corp. will now build a 33-unit supportive housing project based on a $1.5 million payment approved by Claremont, CA. The Jamboree Housing Corp. is a nonprofit organization that builds high-quality, affordable housing.

UCR Becomes Third Campus of Qualcomm Institute After UC San Diego and UC Irvine

The California Institute for Telecommunications and Information Technology, or Calit2, has added the University of California, Riverside (UCR) as its third campus. The UC Office of the President has approved a plan for the University of California Riverside to join founding members UC San Diego and UC Irvine in the multidisciplinary research institute. California created Calit2 over 20 years ago to ensure the state remains on the leading edge of information technology, communications, and other 21st-century technologies.

City of Coachella’s Webinar Educates Small Business About the Available Loans and Grants

Controller Betty T. Lee, along with the sponsorship of the City of Coachella, held an educational webinar for small business owners in the Inland Empire. It was held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on February 9th, 2022. It aimed to share the details of support programs available to Inland Empire’s small businesses through federal, state, and local governments.

Dr. Alisha Wilkins Makes it to the Board of Mt. San Jacinto College Foundation

The San Jacinto College District is a community college and appointed Dr. Alisha Wilkins as a board member of the college’s foundation. Dr. Wilkins has lived in the City of Temecula home for more than 17 years. It was in 2002 that she moved to Temecula with her husband, a now-retired Navy Veteran who served our country for more than 24 years.

Coachella Valley Music Festival Becomes a Trailblazer by Offering Event NFTs

The Coachella Valley Music, and Arts Festival will take place this year from APR 15-17 & 22-24. Passes are no longer available for the festival. However, you join the waitlist here. As part of a partnership with crypto exchange FTX, the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival will return this April after a two-year pause. The festival’s management has announced a series of non-fungible tokens (NFTs), offering on-site perks and VIP access to the event. “The Hash” team discusses the latest move signaling NFTs taking off in the music industry and bringing mainstream blockchain awareness to the masses.
