Weekly Wire Roundup 13 Video

This week we first reported about the Black on the Block event, an entrepreneur’s expo and job fair to be held in Rialto, CA, on Dec 12. The event is organized and spearheaded by 100% volunteer community partners and is supported through donations.

We then wrote about Inland Empire’s relevance and suitability for logistics startups, especially San Bernardino County. Per experts, the area is suitable for logistics companies because it has an international airport, best-in-class freeways and state highways, ports offering long-haul rail access and multimodal logistics facilities, and a robust rail network.

We also reported about a new digital hub named Palm Desert iHub that opened its doors to offer three university programs in Cybersecurity, Entrepreneurship, and Hospitality Management.

The Eastvale STEM Academy helps students succeed in STEM careers. First, we reported on how the academy offers two pathways for students: medical science or engineering/computer science. The program then prepares students to be college and career ready in the STEM fields upon graduation through partnerships.

The news of a Fortune 500 industrial supplier acquiring Ramona Commerce Center in the Inland Empire is no surprise. The region is a logistics and distribution hub for the country, and Ramona Center is located near three major Interstates, the nation’s busiest port system, and Ontario Airport in Perris.

Lastly, we reported Esri, a GIS software company based in Redlands, California. The company has a rich history as it pioneered the GIS software.

According to the company’s fact sheet, Esri maintains a zero-debt position and continues to pursue sustainable organic growth instead of chasing VC money. With 9000 employees in 73 countries, its GIS software is used by 350,000+ organizations, 50% of which are Fortune 500 companies, most national governments, cities, states, and 7,000+ universities.
