Street performances are prohibited on the Mall, as well as on the following streets and rights-of-way:

  • From the Pedestrian Mall to Orange Street, Mission Inn Avenue.
  • Every right-of-way sidewalk on Orange Street between Mission Inn Avenue and Sixth Street.
  • Every right-of-way sidewalk on Sixth Street between Orange Street and the Pedestrian Mall.

Safety Tips You Should Follow During the Festival of Lights

The City of Riverside requests every citizen to follow the given safety precautions as per the needs:

  1. Prepare for your trip in advance to avoid crowds. To know where everything is, familiarize yourself with the event layout. To minimize needless haste and crowd disruption, be aware of where to park and where items are located. Plan because a few streets close to the event will be closed.
  2. Secure Your Personal Property: Make sure anything critical in the car is hidden, and don’t leave valuables inside. Additionally, because there will be people, be sure that any valuables you carry are safe and tracked.
  3. Be Conscious of Your Environment: Follow all posted traffic regulations and safety precautions. Keep an eye out for marked entrances, exits, and paths.
  4. Arrange a meeting time and place in case of separation or emergency. Make sure you have a regrouping strategy in place in case your phone battery expires or you lose service.
  5. By reporting any suspicious or unlawful activity, you may contribute to everyone’s safety. Speak out if you see something that doesn’t seem quite right. Call 911 if there is an emergency. Call (951) 354-2007 to report non-emergencies.
  6. Become a subscriber to Riverside Alert. This way, the City of Riverside may swiftly send you essential information in various scenarios, such as sudden road closures, utility outages, missing individuals, and neighborhood or building evacuations.

Wrap Up!

The Festival of Lights is being held in Riverside for the 30th time. Public performances are not permitted on the Mall between the Pedestrian Mall and Orange Street, Mission Inn Avenue, and Sixth Street. Keep an eye on your surroundings and abide by all posted safety instructions and traffic laws.
