California’s Ontario International Airport Ranked Fastest-growing U.S. Airport

Ontario International Airport (ONT) is the fastest-growing airport in the United States for the fourth consecutive year, based on a survey of frequent travelers by Global Traveler, a leading industry publication geared to business and luxury fliers who travel extensively in the U.S. and abroad.

Honolulu, Austin, Houston, Mexico City, El Salavdor, Chicago O’Hare and Reno-Tahoe are some of the cities airlines have added to their flights operating from Ontario.

“Notwithstanding the slowdown caused by the pandemic, ONT has continued to build on the relationships we’ve established with our longtime airline partners, while attracting new ones – and the destinations they serve,” Wapner said.

18th Annual Global Travel Tested Reader Survey Awards

The ranking was based on the 18th Annual GT Tested Reader Survey. It was conducted in the form of open-ended ballots that ran in subscriber copies of Global Traveler and online at from Dec. 14, 2020, to Sept. 30, 2021. Ballots were distributed via direct mail and email during the same period.
