Top 10 Startup Investors in the Inland Empire Region

Blended Impact, a venture capital (VC) firm with offices in Los Angeles, CA & Riverside, CA, analyzed CrunchBase Data and came up with a list of the top 10 investors in the Inland Empire region. Here we expand the list by covering each investor’s core investment area.

Tech Coast Angels

Tech Coast Angels (TCA) provides funding to early-stage companies in Southern California. TCA has over 450 members and is among the largest angel networks in the world.

It has an Inland Empire chapter that conducts local meetups. It covers the area east of Los Angeles, including Riverside and San Bernardino. The local chapter of TCA focuses on early seed-stage investing, with successful companies then exposed to the other networks within TCA.

Fulmer Capital Partners is a private equity firm based in Vancouver, Canada. The firm invests in small and mid-market companies. The firm invests in companies operating in the hospitality, manufacturing, digital, recycling, and transportation sectors. Fulmer Capital’s track record consists of 15 portfolio companies and five exits.

500 Startups

500 Startups is an early-stage venture fund and seed accelerator founded in 2010 by Dave McClure and Christine Tsai. The firm has more than $1.8 billionΒΉ in assets under management that invests early in founders building fast-growing technology companies.

Through its four-month seed program, the 500 Startups seed fund invests $150,000 in participating companies in exchange for 6% equity.

CVF Capital Partners

CVF Capital Partners is a California-based investment firm that provides capital and resources to small and medium-sized businesses in subordinated debt and preferred equity securities. It lists 16+ exits and 13+ portfolio companies. CVF invests in:

Lighter Capital

Lighter Capital is a revenue-based financing lender that provides financial capital to small technology companies. It is among the pioneering lenders that offered revenue-based financing to fund tech startups.

Serruya Private Equity

Serruya Private Equity (SPE) is a family-managed venture group that oversees the investment activities of the Serruya family. It operates as private equity and venture capital firm focusing on merger and acquisition activities, investing and lending, and investment management.

It invests in companies in the following industries:

StartEngine

StartEngine is an equity crowdfunding platform that allows everyday people to invest and own shares in startups and early-stage companies.

TechStars

Techstars is an American seed accelerator founded in 2006 in Boulder, Colorado. Techstars is an operational investor that helps startups through a three-month-long accelerator program to gain funding, mentorship, and access to the Techstars network for life.

Applications open six times a year and typically stay open for 12 weeks. TechStars has a competitive environment with an acceptance rate of just 1%.
