The National Association of Women Business Owners California (NAWBO-CA) is delighted to announce its annual statewide conference, “Propel Your Business,” sponsored by Bank of America. The meeting occurred on May 15 & 16, 2023, at the Sheraton Grand Sacramento Hotel. It aims to assist business owners in a supportive and empowering environment by focusing on growth, providing valuable resources, and facilitating connections.

What is NAWBO-CA?

NAWBO-CA, established in 1999, represents the interests of over 1.5 million women business owners in California. It advocates for women entrepreneurs, recognizing their significant contributions to the economy with its eleven chapters across the state. California leads the nation in numerous women-owned firms, with 1.9 million employees and generating $318.2 billion in annual revenues. By offering resources, support, and a strong network, NAWBO-CA aims to empower women business owners to thrive holistically.

Connecting and Growing with NAWBO-CA

The event invited members and non-members to “Propel Your Business,” where attendees connected with decision-makers, policy experts, and procurement teams interested in working with women business owners. Business owners will strengthen their connections and expand their professional networks through new opportunities and access to multiple resources.

Empowering Speakers and Breakout Sessions

The conference offered an impressive lineup of speakers and breakout sessions to inspire and inform growth strategies. Notable speakers included CEOs, industry leaders, and experts in various fields, such as Nooshin Behroyan, CEO of Paxon Energy & Infrastructure, and Renee Fraser, CEO of Fraser Communications. These sessions covered topics ranging from scaling up businesses and marketing strategies to legislation updates and federal contract opportunities.

NAWBO-CA also hosted the Women Business Owner of the Year Awards Dinner. This special event honored exceptional women entrepreneurs with remarkable achievements in their respective industries.
