What is the Park Rehabilitation and Refurbishment Program?
Park Rehabilitation and Refurbishment Program is a new plan that aims to work on numerous park repair projects across the city. It is the largest parks and community services program in city history.
All four City Council Districts will be covered by the park improvement projects outlined in the plan, which will replace, renovate, or rehab deteriorating park infrastructure throughout the whole park system. The basis for a healthy, prosperous community is laid by upgrading the amenities and park quality in MoVal.
Parks and Recreation Centers
Parks are essential because they provide a great place to relax and enjoy nature. They also serve as a community gathering place where people can meet, explore and learn about each other.
Parks also provide a variety of recreational activities for people of all ages and abilities. These activities include walking trails, playgrounds, picnic areas, sports fields, and swimming pools.
The benefits of parks extend beyond physical recreation at the park itself. Parks have been shown to positively impact health, including reductions in obesity rates among children. Parks can also help communities address pollution, traffic congestion, and crime by providing green spaces for relaxation and activity away from urban areas.
Importance of Park Rehabilitation and Refurbishment Program
The parks in Moreno Valley are in high demand. Children, families, elders, and athletes enjoy the parks daily in Moreno Valley. It’s crucial to maintain them and rehab them when necessary. The City of Moreno Valley is now working to provide its community with the high-quality parks they cherish most, which will enhance their quality of life.
All the parks in the City of Moreno Valley will have their outdated park infrastructure replaced, renovated, and revitalized as part of the program.
“Our 33 parks are the crown jewels of Moreno Valley. They are where we come together as a community, connect with nature, celebrate milestones, and spend a beautiful day outside,” said Dr. Yxstian Gutierrez, Mayor of Moreno Valley. “Being good stewards of our City means investing in our infrastructure, and this program ensures that our parks will continue to thrive for decades to come.”
The Parks Rehabilitation & Refurbishment Program’s construction was scheduled to start in the Winter of 2022, and renovations are anticipated to be finished in the Summer of 2024.
A few improvements stated for the Parks Rehabilitation & Refurbishment Program are:
- The replacement of the playground.
