Key Takeaways:

  • Fontana is the only city in San Bernardino county with a 104,400 labor workforce.
  • The three major occupational categories of management, business, science, and the arts; services; and sales and office employ more than two-thirds of Fontana’s population.

The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act’s (WIOA) aim is to help people find jobs, develop skills for employment, and receive training.

The act strives to end youth unemployment and help people find work by providing programs that provide education, training, and support services.

It is one of the main initiatives that helped the people of Fontana gain more work opportunities and excel in their careers.

What Makes Fontana a Great City to Work In?

The opportunity city of the Inland Empire is Fontana. It offers a prosperous, safe, healthy environment, friendly neighborhoods, numerous employment and housing options, top-notch parks, and a bustling downtown.

Fontana has developed its fifth identity as a live-work-play-learn city of opportunity where families, young adults, and elderly inhabitants can all thrive.

Previously, the community had four identities: pioneer community, agricultural hub, steel town, and bedroom community.

Moreover, it has an excellent public transportation system, so you can get around quickly and save time. In addition, the city has many parks and recreation centers that offer activities for all ages.

A City Where Workers Are Encouraged.

People love working in Fontana because it’s a safe and clean city with lots of parks and green spaces. There are great places to explore if you’re into outdoor activities. Plus, there are lots of things for kids to doβ€”both in the city and at the local schools.

Despite being a family-friendly city, workers are also encouraged for their hard work.

At the City Council meeting on July 12, three City of Fontana employees were recognized as the department’s Employees of the Year. These workers were awarded honors for their outstanding performance throughout the previous year.

Residents of Fontana can work close to home because of the city’s diverse economy. It encourages a robust local economy that balances the city’s social, environmental, and economic demands.

An Attraction for Businesses.

Significant companies partnered with the city to help Fontanians find work locally and entice workers to settle there. Small enterprises and startups prosper because of the city’s pro-business policies.Β

Fontana’s accessibility to three interstates, commuter and freight rail, and public transportation aid in luring new firms while maintaining support for the health care, services, manufacturing, and logistics sectors.

The Greater the Number of Jobs, the Lower the Unemployment Rate.

Fontana’s unemployment rate has typically improved at the state and county levels after the crisis of 2008–2009.

The unemployment rate in Fontana decreased from 14.7% in 2010 to 5.5% in 2016. That percentage is still somewhat higher than the 5.2% unemployment rate in San Bernardino County and California.

Wrap Up!

Fontana is an excellent choice for startups and employees in the Inland Empire. It’s a neat and organized city with many opportunities, and it’s only primed to grow in the future.Β

If you’re looking for a place to work or live, consider Fontana a potential choice. It will be an excellent place to start your business, raise your family, or take up residence.
