Iteris’s Other Smart Projects in San Bernardino County

Iteris is a leading provider of applied informatics for transportation and has been involved in several projects in San Bernardino County. Some

Intelligent Transportation System (ITS)

One major project is deploying an Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) along the I-10 corridor – a 50-mile stretch of highway that runs through San Bernardino County. Installing advanced technologies such as CCTV cameras and sensors provides real-time traffic information and improves road safety.

Signal Synchronization

Iteris has also worked on the signal synchronization project, aiming to optimize traffic flow by coordinating traffic signals at major intersections. It resulted in significant improvements in travel time and reduced traffic congestion.

Active Transportation

Another project taken by Iteris has provided services to improve active transportation in San Bernardino County. The company assisted in developing multi-use paths, bike lanes, and pedestrian-friendly designs to promote sustainable conveyance for the public.

Wrap-up

Iteris was awarded a $2.5 million contract to monitor and maintain the San Bernardino Valley Coordinated Traffic Signal System while also developing a Smart County Master Plan for all of San Bernardino County. This plan is the first to cover the largest county in the U.S., and Iteris has previously worked on several other smart mobility projects in the region, including an Intelligent Transportation System along the I-10 corridor, signal synchronization, and active transportation.
